Being Human

September 7th, 2011

Being 'Human' doesn't mean we're weak. It is sadly true that some people abuse the powers of their mind while some others are lazy with it. However, our human potential for good and creativity is endless. We've seen this across the centuries and in every-day life. We are the gods and goddesses. Better yet, we are human.

The Vision of Self-Achievement

May 14th, 2011

What do you look like at your best achievement?

This is a powerful question when you reflect on it. Many people only see themselves where they are at this current moment in time.  This is not a bad view by any means; it lets you see your current state in relation to what you have done with yourself up to this point in your life.  However, when you think about your goals, do you imagine yourself in that position of achievement or stuck in the now?  Your goals and visions may include, for example, getting a particular job – sitting behind your fancy desk in a high-rise building , meeting the love of your life – taking long walks on the beach hand-in-hand, reaching certain financial goals – numbers that make you smile when you see your bank statement, starting your own business – being the man instead of working for the man, the goals and visions are endless!

Visualization works.

If you cannot see yourself in that position, it will be nearly impossible to reach that goal.  Seeing your future self in that position will give you motivation and the feeling of achievement of what you are working towards.  Simply put, being able to visualize your goals helps puts them into focus.

Imagine if you’re backpacking through the mountains but have no idea where you want to go; however, you know you want to get somewhere besides where you currently are.  You’d probably get nowhere fast or even lost in the forest without a destination in mind.  Imagine now that you’re backpacking through the mountains and you know there is a beautiful waterfall you’re working to get to.  Imagine making it there and even taking a swim once you have arrived.  With a map and compass in hand, you’re off with a clear goal, destination, and outcome in mind.

Try this for yourself:

  1. Name at least 3 goals for yourself.  Be sure to write them down.
  2. See yourself in whatever future positions they may be.  Imagine you’ve already achieved it and see yourself there.
  3. Be thankful for someone or something (your higher power, God, The Universe, family, friends, etc) for helping you along the way.

Have it in mind?  Email me and tell me what you see; I'd love to hear about it!  Now that you have the imagry, what will it take for you to get there?  What will be your map and compass?

‘To Find Yourself’ or ‘To Create Yourself’

April 18th, 2011

You may hear the expression often said, “I’m trying to find myself.” …or some variation of the saying. What does this mean to you? You’re lost and you need directions? If so, is there a GPS for life? Are we all on the same coordinates or are we set for different paths? The other side of this are those that wish to create themselves. There is no road map or directions for these people; there is only the road in which they create.

Many people live day to day in the flow of life and do not give much thought to who they are, who they are becoming, or (perhaps more importantly) what their real potential is in life. You may call it life on cruise control. These people wait for things to happen as opposed to making things happen for them. For many, this is a standard of living that works for them and is comfortable and safe.

Allow me to back up and point something out. You may have seen “who they are becoming” and wondered what that means. Ask yourself, are you the same person as you were 5 years ago? How about 10 years, 30 years, 50 years? Individuals evolve though experiences. A person can take an experience and, based off interpretations either consciously or subconsciously, change their personality and views over time.

For those that understand the Law of Attraction and similar concepts, life is not about finding yourself, but instead about creating yourself.  This again could be initiated by a number of factors in a person's life.  Create yourself with what you value as a good and successful life.  Create yourself with what you view as happy; not someone else's view of happiness.  The thought that you have the ability to make whatever you want out of your life may be too unreal for some. dd cat

These are mainly the people that live on life’s cruse control unless they choose to take charge of their life. Even you if you do not believe you have the capacity to create your whole life, do you think you can create the next 10 minutes of you life? Set a short goal and accomplish it in 10 minutes. Try it!  Now, what is the difference between 10 minutes and 1 day … 1 day and 1 year ... 1 year and 10 years … you see where this is going.

The concepts of finding yourself and creating yourself both can go into deep measures on the personal and spiritual spectrums. Ask yourself where you are in your life. Are you comfortable in cruise control and doing nothing?  Are you looking to find yourself through external souces?  Or are you looking to create yourself though the views of what you want out of life?

Your view of a 'Happy Life'

April 9th, 2011

I was recently asked in an online group discussion what my view of a good life is like.  Each person in the group was to point out 3 things in which they personally consider key points to living a happy life.  Also, to state what would be a way to measure these.  There is no wrong answer to this question because the answer is completely a personal matter.

Sometimes in life all you need is someone to ask you the right question to get your mind moving.  This is a large part of life coaching.  That is, someone asking you a question not necessarily for the answer, but for you to think about it.

If you’re feeling up for a little self-discovery, try this exercise yourself.

  • Think of 3 things that you consider key points to a happy life.
  • What makes these key points important to you?
  • What are ways that you can measure the progress of these key points?

Enjoy exploring!

What is Coaching?

Coaching is quickly becoming one of the leading tools that successful people use to live extraordinary lives.  Through regular coaching sessions, clients identify what is most important to them and align their thoughts, words, and actions accordingly.

As your coach, I work with you to identify what you want personally and professionally, and support you in achieving a life that you really want and love. Having a life you love starts with gaining clarity on your values, enabling more meaningful choices and consistent action. Your commitment to your life though coaching offers a mean for more balance, joy, intimacy, energy, financial abundance, focus and action in every area of your life.

How is Coaching differ from Therapy or Consulting?

Coaching is not therapy, which goes into depth about various issues, usually dealing with the past, nor is it consulting which generally results in giving the client answers.  Coaching is more about action-orient and focuses primarily on the present and future.  As your coach I enable YOU to determine your own answers though the work done in our coaching partnership.  EMPOWER YOURSELF!

As your coach I will:

* Encourage you to set goals that you truly want
* Ask you to do more than you may have done on your own
* Help you focus better in order to produce results more quickly
* Provide you with the tools, support, and structure to accomplish more

How do I get coached or learn more?

If you'd like to learn more about coaching or to schedule a session, please contact Sensei Josh Moree via phone (678 596 4051) or email though the contact page.
